As part of my involvement with [...]]]> I have to thank the great songwriter Todd Sheaffer for introducing me to Black Elk. Ever since the first time I heard his song “Black Elk Speaks”, I’ve been interested  in the life and teachings of Black Elk.  

As part of my involvement with 10 Million Clicks for Peace I wanted to add a quote from Black Elk to this blog.

Because, the most important peace is that which comes from inside of us.

The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes from within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this. The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is first known that true peace which is within the souls of men.

Where Is Peace To Be Found?
In the city or the mill or the meadow or the beach?

Perhaps in forest, or under rock?
Maybe in the quiet trail of a snail or the early morning weavings of a spider?

Hide away from the world and descend into yourself.
Close your eyes, still your mind, and imagine how you’d like the world to be.

Let harmony, comfort, and peace fill your days.
Let children’s laughter, and kind intentions fill your thoughts.
Let your mental constructions all be of kind will.

Find yourself in a beautiful and familiar forest in which lurk no dangers.
Chance upon a fresh, still pool, undisturbed, and ne’er seen by human eyes.

Smile into the peaceful pool and look at your reflection.
This pool is your life.

Cause waves of consternation, anger, and discord,
And your simple smile will ne’er be reflected back.

Yet, still your spirit to spread kindness and good will, and your life, the pool
Will reflect all manner of good things to you.

Capture the stillness of the pool into your heart.
Ascend the layers of your mind, and emerge back into the world, but more.

Where others show unkindness, reflect back to them generosity.
Tap into your higher self,
The one that sees beyond the simple workings of a mirror,
To a place that knows
Violence never begets peace,
Hatred never begets love, and
Roughness never beauty.

Here then, are the three levels.
- There are those who simply react. In this state they can never advance.
- There are those who are like pools that reflect good to the good, bad to the bad.
- And, finally, there are those who understand; the awake ones.

All real progress in the world is made by those who are beyond reactions,
Who are beyond simple reflections.
Be therefore amongst the nobility,
The ones who see peace as directly possible through their own actions.
Become the solution, spreading light to the world.

In the previous post I mentioned my desire to live my dreams of happiness in my life and with my family;  how is spite of my physical health challenges I am setting out a plan to be prosperous, helping others to prosper at the same time.

I came across the quote above (I like quotes!) and thought, “man that’s good, that’s exactly the way to go about the NewPlan. “  So, with that in mind, I began writing down the activities that make me feel best. My thinking is that a string of activities that I enjoy during the course of a day will lead to a happy day. Happy days lead to happy weeks, months, and years.

Doing the things that result in happiness for me may not be the same for anyone else, so I’m not going to list anything here.

Enough can be gleaned from this website / blog for someone to get a general idea. And as far as happiness “achieved”, only time will tell.  It’s better for now that something is attempted (done) as in the axiom “Be, Do, Have”

So today I am (be) writing (do).  I’m writing my ebook and collecting my thoughts and notes for the New Plan.

All the while though, I hold onto my dream of freedom and [...]]]> Today, I have a headache. Yesterday, well, I had a headache and chills, kind of like the flu for a few hours. The day before that, had a headache and fatigue all day. Such is the struggle of chronic illness and enduring treatments.

All the while though, I hold onto my dream of freedom and happiness with my family and my wife. There is much I want to do, so much to see, so many people to meet.

So, here’s the New Plan. While continuing treatments until the end of August 2012, I will grow and prosper financially. I will use the power for “good” and bring others with me who also have dreams of happiness and prosperity.

It’s time for A New Plan.
